welcome back to Bonanza disc golf and today I want to talk to you about the best tool in my opinion or the best way to fix your form fast or to even do a form change because right now if you've been following the channel and project 100 which is kind of a video of which is where I'm training to get onto the disc golf pro tour if you've been following that progress you know that right now I'm undergoing a pretty major form change to stop having both ugly as well as inefficient form and to hopefully get me to the point where I can get up into the 450 475 500 foot range in my backhand and to do that I've recently gotten a net well actually two minutes and I want to talk to you about that because this video is also a part of a new series called for real or bad deal big shout out to Caleb Dyer over on Instagram for giving me that idea for the name of the series also just picked up a tripod because they're gonna need this and in the new series for real or bad deal I want to take a look at a lot of products that are either being promoted in disc golf or that companies want to send me a disc golf to see if they're good value for money or just helpful in general and which ones that you should get I don't think it's anything crazy to say that you should get a disc golf net I think most people if you're wanting to just not go out to a field all the time to do your disc golf training but say that's a good idea because honestly even where I'm at right now is a disc golf course and I was expecting for another series with these discs right here which is going to be coming out very soon I was expecting to be able to throw them all in a field but I got here and there was like no actual good feel to be able to throw them on and so I'd have to either use a part of the course or just try to manufacture something between this part of field and that part of field if I'm coming out to just work on my form in a field there are a couple major drawbacks that I see with that the first one is just needing a lot of space obviously especially if you're starting to work on your distance drivers or gaining distance even like soccer fields can become too small if it's an enclosed space and you need more than 400 to 450 feet the other problem is throwing these discs I have very few discs right now if I was to actually do a session right now so I'm gonna do a small one with you guys and show you the tips and tricks to work on and because this is about how to fix your form fast I want to talk about the things that I'm currently working on that we even haven't discussed in the last project 100 video but if I'm going out to a field I would probably want to take like however many drivers I possibly can just so I can get reps but then I have to remember them and I have left this in field as I'm sure have all of you guys who have done field work like that the beauty of the net is you don't really need a lot of space some Nets like this skills net right here which I just got on Amazon because I was waiting for Visionary to uh get that one to me they did actually send me that one out and so I want to compare that versus the skills net and these are actually different sizes which will be interesting as well this one is seven foot by seven foot and I thought that you need a bigger net so I ordered the 10 foot by 10 with them I think it's honestly too big for if you were to have it in your apartment I'm interested to see setup time so I'm not going to take anything out I haven't actually opened anything up in the Visionary net so I'm going to actually time set up time just to see between both of them oh no what the heck oh no it's upside down it actually matters oh this is supposed to go to the bottom to shoot okay it took two minutes and 30 seconds if you remember which side is up and which side is down that would be better honestly I can probably just use the Carabiner good surprisingly that actually works from here one person you I mean you can move it around it's not it's honestly not that big this is the perfect size seven by seven it does come with Stakes to stick it down as well oh yeah it's totally upside down but yeah it definitely would work better if it was not upside down but honestly that's only one of the major differences between these two and there's only like two major differences so I'm excited to pull this one out because I do think that there are a couple things that the Visionary net does set itself apart from the skills nut and you'll have to decide if that's worth it for you because I think the 7x7 from visionarian skills is like a 20 or 30 dollar price point difference you do have a lot more options for different Nets to get like one base you can get a 22 by 10 base and then get like 15 different Nets that work with it I just have a 10x10 here and honestly if I like this more for the reasons I think I'm going to I'm probably going to get rid of this and that return it and then get a 7x7 Visionary net that will go on the same base as this which only costs like forty dollars I believe so let's go ahead and open this up same time the other one took two and a half minutes so literally less than the time would take you to go and retrieve your discs by far to set up a net I'm gonna reset this and start one oh actually this thing oh wow the quality on this actually feels way better oh and there's a second bag and the third oh those are sandbags too oh okay that's helpful there are instructions don't they won't need them I did set oh yeah this thing is way beefier and there are ties okay I was actually surprised too that these are the same size of bag God this is so massive why did I think the 10 by 10 is for some reason I thought I missed more or something I guess I don't freaking know oh my gosh this is so big oh and then this can just clamp on any of that oh that's actually really nice that's really stupid proof and I like things that are stupid proof because I'm a little stupid let's hope we can even get this in could be a problem holy crap this thing is massive oh wow I care oh wow I'm kind of impressed that I can get that oh my gosh what is the freaking holy cow all right time a lot longer six minutes and 30 seconds all right this is the for real or bad deal part of this because honestly okay this this took a little bit longer to set up than the skills net did there are a couple reasons why I think I'm going to very much prefer it though honestly oh my God that is so loud I think if I was to do this again I would get the smaller one I would this is the this is a much better size net the 7x7 is significantly better as Annette who needs like this is more for accuracy like this is cool to have and I love how modular it is because you just have that middle thing that if I was I honestly I could use this net the skills net on this system I think however I would probably want to get the Visionary net though because of a feature that we're gonna get to which is right in here the mesh is a little bit bigger on the Visionary than on the skills now I think that's just because what it's for like this is going to stretch a little bit but it's not going to let a disc through this is for a baseball so like if you put a baseball in there it could stretch enough to fit a baseball through potentially if it was this size but on top of that I think that the construction materials in this which I'm guessing this is the same materials that come with just a 7x7 because it doesn't make any sense that they would have smaller ones when they just add in one piece for the 10 by 10. you can let me know if you have one then you're wrong it's bigger than this is these are a little bit less beefy over here than they are on the Visionary net no I was a little skeptical like I like getting stuff sent to me obviously who wouldn't but I want to make sure that everything that I am sharing with you guys is actually good and I was a little bit worried that this wasn't going to be like up to the standard or just the same exact thing as the skills net but for like 40 more because it's a disc golf item I genuinely don't think that's the case and there's one last thing that I want to show you on the vision internet which makes me really like it for accuracy but also just for ease of use of the net which is like stupid proofing easy proofing I like those things a lot this has one of those features but honestly not with this net size this is this nut is way too big why did I think this was a good idea here this is me for reference there's literally nine more square feet in this look how tiny I am my head is in the middle of this freaking thing and this freaking thing is a thing that I really like and to be honest that's the reason why I think I want to get the 40 Visionary net that can fit on this base and I just have those couple extra poles because honestly all that will fit in the carrying case and I'm surprised that the carrying case actually still had sandbags in it which the skills that didn't come with but the thing that's really nice is when I throw it like that it actually pops out the bottom like just gets sent in the Chute down to the bottom there well this net is way too big I definitely need to seven myself and even if it doesn't pop out the bottom oh or you miss the nice thing is that you can just collect it all right here where it's open and if you're watching the other video that I posted using this net for my form because this net came in before the Visionary one you notice that I was struggling getting stuff out of the bottom of the net sometimes as always on this channel you know I like being as transparent and authentic as I possibly can be and one of the things that I want to be transparent with you guys about is that one of the other reasons why I really like the Visionary net besides the fact that it's an equal quality net maybe slightly better than the skills for disc golf because it has that retriever which is so nice but the other reason why I really like Visionary is because they're one of the fewer companies and this the amount of companies that do this is growing that value influencer relationships meaning I'm not getting paid by them I did get this sent out to me but they do have an affiliate program so if you wanted to pick up a Visionary net I would highly recommend it even over something like a skills even though it might be slightly more expensive I think that there are some features that bring it up to make sense at that price point especially since it's a smaller company that's not really selling on Amazon and there are a lot more net variations than just the 10x10 and 7x7 but if you want to go through the links in my description for a net you'll really support me in a significant way which is really nice as a Creator compared to if you wanted to get that net you could still get that through links in my description if you go through Amazon please don't just get this net if you want that net instead get the net that works best for you I just think that this probably is the 7x7 version not the 10x10 but if you wanted to pick up a net please do through my links in the description that would really support me to get on tour as well as continue the journey to bring you guys better and more content but one thing that I wanted to show you guys is not just that you can get a net but how to do a good Network session every time I say that I sound like I think about like networking for business instead of network and disc golf but this is really what I'm going to be doing probably every day if not every other day for the next three months because even though I just played a bunch of holes for a couple more videos that I filmed I want to make sure that I'm also dialing my form especially when I'm tired because that's one's going to break down the most also if you don't have the money to buy any of these nets I want to shout out journey disc golf he's got Awesome YouTube channel he's also working on a swarm and stuff and he uses batting cages that are local Tim and so if you have batting cages that are close to you I would go check those out as a way to do your network because they have this size mesh so that'll be really good so I'll definitely check that out if you can't afford a net or you don't necessarily need one so Network you need a tripod and a net somewhere whether that's your net or at the baseball field this tripod is way more expensive than one that you might need it's more of a Creator's tripod I would probably just get one on Amazon or Walmart very cheap or just prop it up against something if you can I'm gonna throw my phone in there because when you're doing Network you want to get good reps in but you also want to make sure that you're checking those reps because I could just throw at this and that all day long and honestly that probably would help if I am focusing on things but it would work a lot better if I'm focusing on things but also taking stock in the session whether or not I'm doing them correctly so I'm going to throw real fast and then we're going to go ahead and look on my phone and see the things that I feel like I'm doing right and the things that I am doing incorrect so the main thing that we worked on in my last video was hip up keep it up through your X step and then it comes down and then you explode through and up there are a couple more things that I'm going to work on so I'm going to share that with you real fast just so that you can know what you might need to work on once you get your net and we're focusing on back in here I have done some forehand as well but first yeah that thing needs to be lower which it would be on a freaking 7x7 let's take a look at that form real fast so I am pretty tired so I want to see what is breaking down if anything my hip right here is up X step oh it kind of came down early look at that okay it's down I want to keep that hip up more it should still be up I kind of turn my body around full reach back is a little low I'm a little pulling on my shoulder and pulling before my front foot gets all the way down I'm bracing a little bit better which is one thing I'm focusing on is really focusing on bracing on the front foot here so that I don't really swing past my body you see I'm standing up a little bit more and then just kind of planting that toe right there that's a little bit better but let's really focus now I'm just getting that last little bit right which is surprising because I felt like I was keeping that up so that just makes me realize I really need to keep that hip up really focused on it and maybe even focus on a smaller X step as I throw through I'm going to throw two shots here I'm also going to focus a little bit more on kind of a box drill keeping my reach back up I do need that tilt but more keeping that up here and so that it's a little bit out and so up keep my knees back keep it up even higher and then extending and falling through after my foot hits so we'll try that one time see if that works and these are the main things I'm working on right now to try to get my timing correct oh that felt really clean ah didn't feel great a lot a lot of things to work on hips up okay I kept it up a lot longer that right hip is up it comes down foot plants that's not bad my foot is on the ground before I'm starting to move through my off arm is doing absolutely nothing though that's something I need to continue or start to work on I haven't really worked on it much I'm also not really going crazy fast I'm going to try one more round after this with actually trying to throw a max distance type shot and see if I can keep everything together up up okay that was actually that looked very good you see I'm kind of you can see from here on my line is going upwards so up up again and it stays up for a much longer time that's one of the things I'm looking for because I see a lot of Pros doing that I was just really focusing on my freaking hand good job Anthony sorry about that okay I think this looks pretty okay let's see stays that one stayed up for a while and then I step here oh and then I'm reaching look at that I'm reaching back even more after I stop look at that step reaching back even more right side is doing nothing at all terrible shoulder core on the right side but that felt very good I felt that too so that's something I need to continue to like work hey I felt that was good let's try that again and this is something that like you don't need to like work at every single shot but I would do four or five shots and then work on it and this brings me back to one of the main points I want to talk about as well is with this I could throw all day long I'm not having to go get anything there's really nothing in the way of me just throwing and throwing and throwing so I would set timers maybe anywhere from five minutes to 10 minutes to make sure that you're taking a five to ten minute break after that or working on your forehand or something different so you don't actually throw your arm out and if you're doing very low intensity shots kind of like what I have been doing I've not been throwing many max distance shots I've just really been focused on oh not that's even bad I keep that so low I need to keep it a little higher oh that feels really clean holy crap and that's the other benefit of network too is I really want every time that I feel like I'm doing something good I want to go to a field and test it but if I'm Doing Network and there are no Fields I can't which is actually a good thing because then I can just drill it drill it drill it drill it make it second nature but what I was getting to is you really need to make sure that you are putting in a rest because when you throw 10 discs then you go and retrieve 10 discs that walking there getting those distance coming back that's rest that you don't have when you're doing Network I'm gonna try one more thing just throwing my max distance trying to throw max power seeing if I can bring all these things together but this is really what I'm working on right now in terms of my form and to be honest the reason I'm so pumped for a net is because with my old form I had hundreds of rounds like two or three hundred rounds at least with my old form if you think about that if we just say around 30 drives every single round because there's some practice drives or some other things like that we can probably safely assume that I've thrown that shot that drive ten thousand times so if I'm here at the net now I want to get 10 000 reps in over the next three months if I'm throwing a little bit over 100 shots focusing on my good form I'm able to get those 10 000 reps here at the net much faster than a field and honestly in a van finding a field is a pain in the butt so I'm not interested in that whoa that felt very clean see how we're looking come on okay hit pops up hip stays very high I'm maybe a little too turned around but my angle's also not the best it's not exactly my angle of the camera isn't exactly flush with where I'm throwing and then there stays High get that step out ones okay the foot touches there it seems like seems like it's kind of full extension maybe no it's kind of after yeah after that hits it kind of fully extends okay my right arm or my left arm is coming through a little bit more not a lot it's still not really there okay and I still fall forward a little bit so I need to work on bracing a lot that felt very good though keep that box up bent knees bent torso up with the hips up with the hips up oh yeah even more up good and then as it comes through oh yeah it's getting extended a lot better coil still at full extension as my foot is fully on the ground rotating through my hips coming through still a little forward you can see I'm a little forward there if I'm bracing a little bit better that disc goes a lot farther look at that last big step we'll go ahead and get teared on time for these but this is a lot of what I'm working on I mean my form is feeling cleaner it's feeling a little better I still need a lot of work on flat and Anheuser releases but we can work on those into the net as well just focus on nailing in what is good form for me and how do I do it as well as lifting so a lot more project 100 coming because that's really what I'm focusing on as well as some other really fun new series but if you want to check out the last project 100 video where we go over how I started getting this form and what I believe is the absolute first step to getting Pro level form check it out right up here please subscribe I appreciate you guys a lot a lot of good things coming I hope this was helpful because it really was helpful for me really excited about the net but I'm definitely buying the 7x7 because this return feature is just so nice go ahead and pick up a net Link in the description if you'd like and this is how long it took to hack them down just about two minutes to tear down so less than 10 minutes to set up time and you have a better than fieldwork session for you guys okay love you bye
