Women's Disc Golf Global Event Returns with Record Number of Participating Events

The PDGA Women's Global Event (WGE) is set to take place on May 8-9, with an impressive 100+ events already registered worldwide. This biennial tournament is a testament to the growing popularity of women's disc golf, offering a unique opportunity for female players to compete and connect globally.

At its core, the WGE emphasizes community and participation over competition. According to Elaine King, PDGA Women's Committee Chair and Disc Golf Hall of Fame member, "The focus is on growing the community and making it more inclusive." While competition is certainly celebrated, the event prioritizes creating a welcoming environment for women and girls to play disc golf together.

For tournament directors (TDs), hosting a WGE event offers an exceptional chance to promote diversity, inclusion, and outreach among female players. The PDGA provides extensive resources to assist TDs in planning and executing their events, including customizable registration flyers, marketing materials, and step-by-step guides.

Key requirements for WGE events include:

* Offering all 23 female divisions, even if there's only one player

* Sanctioning the event through the PDGA and adhering to Tour Standards

* Ensuring TDs are current PDGA members and Certified Officials*

* Conducting two rounds of competition on the same course layout

New features for this year's WGE include special Player's Packs, available from the Official PDGA Store. These packs offer an exceptional value, including a Dynamic Discs Judge, Innova Discs Mamba, and other exclusive items.

To promote your event, reach out to local female disc golfers, share event registration flyers, and create a buzz around the tournament. The ultimate goal is to foster a fun, inclusive environment where women can participate, socialize, and grow their passion for the sport.

For any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the PDGA office at (706) 261-6342 or reach out to the Tour Manager. Let's work together to create an unforgettable experience for female disc golfers worldwide!
