Smugglers' Notch Resort, a beloved destination for disc golf enthusiasts, has been chosen as the host site for the United States Junior Disc Golf Championship in 2026. The resort has a long history of hosting major tournaments, including two Pro Worlds and one Pro Masters World. In fact, it was here that the USJDGC first took place in 2018 and 2019.
But before the big event in 2026, the resort is gearing up to host another exciting tournament – the Northeast Junior Championship. Scheduled for August 16-18, this A-Tier event will bring together top junior players from around the country for a thrilling competition. Registration is now open, and with a small entry fee, juniors can look forward to competing in one of the premier events in the world.
Smugglers' Notch Resort has been working closely with the Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT) and Disc Golf Vermont (DGVT) to bring this event to life. The resort's commitment to supporting junior disc golf development is evident, and Aidan Trombley, Director of Disc Golf at Smuggs, serves on the PDGA Youth & Education Committee.
"We're committed to making this event the best it can be," said Jeff Spring, Tournament Director. "From the waterparks to the FunZone, we have an amazing range of activities for juniors and their families to enjoy off the course."
The Northeast Junior Championship promises to be a unique experience for junior players. Not only will they compete in an A-Tier event, but they'll also get to prepare themselves for the US Title that will take place on one of the sport's most iconic venues.
Chris Young, Vermont PDGA State Coordinator and Director of Vermont's tournament series, noted, "We're building on the playbook that worked when we launched this event in 2018-19. With the growth of youth disc golf around the region, we're excited to start building this event again!"
To make it even more attractive for juniors and their families, Smugglers' Notch Resort is offering a 40% discount on lodging for a four-night stay during the tournament. Register now for one of the premier junior competitions in the country and get ready for an unforgettable experience!
