Kristian Tattar Seizes Lead at 2024 Throw Pink Women's Disc Golf Championship

The 2024 Throw Pink Women's Disc Golf Championship has reached a pivotal moment, with Kristian Tattar emerging as the leader after a dramatic turn of events on Saturday. In an instant, Tattar swung into first place with a three-stroke advantage on the 18th hole, stunning fans and competitors alike.

Tattar had been steady throughout the tournament, but it was her scorching performance on Saturday that truly set her apart from the pack. She shot the lowest round of the week so far, finishing at an impressive 8-under-par. In contrast, Eveliina Salonen, who had led after the first two rounds, was still playing well, recording a respectable 5-under-par through 17 holes.

However, a critical moment arrived when Salonen suffered a double bogey on Hole 18, while Tattar capitalized with a crucial birdie. This sudden shift propelled Tattar into the lead, and she now holds a two-stroke advantage over Salonen at 13-under-par.

The competition remains fierce, with Ohn Scoggins slipping to solo third place, five strokes behind Tattar. Valerie Mandujano has moved onto the leaderboard, but trails the leader by nine strokes.

Tattar's breakthrough performance was not limited to her overall score; she also excelled in one key statistical category – strokes gained putting at 4.59. This impressive display of skill on the green helped propel her to the top of the leaderboard.

Meanwhile, several players took significant strides towards securing their spots in the tournament. Silva Saarinen, Madison Walker, Hannah Manis, and Hailey King all made strong gains, rising above the cut line with remarkable performances on Saturday. Their accomplishments were highlighted by Saarinen's ace on Hole 1, which served as a memorable kickstart to her round.

As the championship enters its final stages, it appears that Tattar, Salonen, Scoggins, and newcomer Winthrop are set for an intense battle to claim the top spot. With so many talented players vying for victory, anything can happen in this closely contested competition.
