Kevin Jones Makes History with Thrilling Victory at Green Mountain Championship

Kevin Jones proved that he's one of the best in the game by taking down a stacked field and claiming the top spot at the 2020 Green Mountain Championship. The freshly-minted champion was humble about his win, stating that it "felt nice to get one in 2020." However, make no mistake - this was a monumental achievement for Jones, who has cemented himself as a force to be reckoned with on the Disc Golf Pro Tour.

Jones' second-career elite series win came after a thrilling showdown with Paul McBeth and Eagle McMahon. In a dramatic turn of events, Jones dropped three shots back to McBeth over four holes, but instead of crumbling under pressure, he refocused and bounced back with six birdies in the final 10 holes. It was a decisive victory that left no doubt about his skill level.

Jones' past history at Idlewild had created some uncertainty about whether he could truly beat the world's best players on one of the sport's grandest stages. However, Sunday's win has firmly put those doubts to rest. With this triumph, Jones has catapulted himself into fifth place in the DGPT points standings for the 2020 season.

In FPO action, Paige Pierce demonstrated her mastery over the course by setting a new record and claiming victory at the Green Mountain Championship. Her masterful display included an unofficial 1037-rated performance, where she carded seven-under par to edge out Hailey King. It was a nail-biting finish that saw Pierce execute clutch shots down the stretch to secure the win.

Pierce's dominance on the course was a testament to her skill and determination. She hit an impressive 84% of fairways and made 86% C1x putts during the final round, showcasing why she's one of the most consistent performers in the sport. King may have fallen short, but she impressed everyone with her tenacity and refusal to back down from the challenge.

The Green Mountain Championship has once again showcased the incredible talent and skill that defines this sport. With Jones and Pierce leading the charge, it's clear that the future of disc golf looks brighter than ever.
