Iron Hill Disc Golf Course Set to Shine on National Stage

Located in northern Delaware, the Iron Hill Disc Golf Course has been a regional powerhouse for nearly a decade, earning its spot as an A-Tier event. This year, the course takes center stage once again, hosting the prestigious Delaware Disc Golf Challenge, which joins the esteemed National Tour. The course boasts 18 holes spanning over 10,000 feet of challenging terrain.

One of Iron Hill's defining characteristics is its demanding layout, with a whopping par of 72 for players on the Gold tees. With only four par-3s and ten par-4s, not to mention four par-5s, this course requires strategy and finesse from even the most skilled players. The lush wooded fairways are lined with countless trees, making every throw a test of skill and adaptability.

The 17th hole, affectionately known as "The Gauntlet," stands out as one of the course's most daunting challenges. This par-5 behemoth stretches over 800 feet to a unique, elevated green, where accuracy is paramount. The drive requires precision, while navigating the fairway demands creative shot-making.

To succeed on Iron Hill's challenging terrain, players must employ meticulous course management and preparation. Each throw needs to be carefully planned, taking into account the layout of the fairways and the potential consequences of missed shots. Patience and experience are key, as birdies do not come easily in this testing environment.

Despite its difficulties, Iron Hill has earned a reputation for being one of the top courses in Delaware. The course's dedication to providing an exceptional playing experience is evident in its well-manicured fairways and engaging design. With the National Tour on site, Iron Hill is poised to receive the recognition it deserves, as players and spectators alike witness its unique charm.
