Honouring Women in Disc Golf: Nominations Open for Becky Zallek Award

The PDGA Women's Committee is seeking nominations from current women and girl members for the prestigious Becky Zallek Women's Choice Award. This honourable award is bestowed upon tournament directors who demonstrate a commitment to creating an inclusive environment for women in disc golf.

Becky Zallek was a trailblazer in her own right, earning recognition as a Volunteer of the Year, Tournament Director of the Year, Sportswoman of the Year, and Special Services Award winner during her lifetime. Her legacy continues through this award, which celebrates tournament directors who go above and beyond to ensure women have an enjoyable experience.

The Becky Zallek Women's Choice Award acknowledges TDs who implement measures such as gender-inclusive players packs, increased registration access for women, and thoughtful course selection and layout designs. Nominees must demonstrate a genuine commitment to providing a positive atmosphere for women in the sport.

If you know of a dedicated tournament director who embodies these qualities, now is the time to nominate them. The nomination form will be sent via email to all active women members this week. If you haven't received it and think you should have, please contact the membership team to update your profile information.

Nominations for the Becky Zallek Women's Choice Award are open until December 18, 2025. The winner will be presented with the award at the United States Women's Disc Golf Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, scheduled for July 2026.

To nominate a deserving TD, please wait for the email containing the nomination form or contact the PDGA membership team to request it. All current women and girl members are eligible to participate in this celebration of excellence in disc golf.
