This summer marked a major milestone for disc golf in Mongolia as the Mongolian Disc Golf Association (MDGA), with support from the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) and local partners, worked tirelessly to promote the sport among citizens of all ages. The initiative was sparked by a grant from PDGA's Marco Polo program, which provided 9 permanent baskets and discs to the Turgen Club grounds.

Building on this momentum, the Paul McBeth Foundation team visited Mongolia, mapping out an international-standard 18-hole course at the Turgen club field and donating additional baskets. Teepad grass was also provided, enabling the development of a world-class disc golf facility in the heart of Ulaanbaatar city.

As a result of these efforts, disc golf has become increasingly popular among Mongolians from all walks of life. The MDGA began organizing tournaments at the Turgen club field in June, with regular Saturday events and a series league tournament using the UDisc application. Over 38 participants took part in the series, competing for prizes including discs and cash awards.

To further grow the sport's popularity, the MDGA collaborated with the State Committee of Physical Education and Sports of Mongolia to host an event called "Let's make time for disc golf." This event featured competitions for teenagers, young people, adults, seniors, families, and friends. A total of 500 people attended the events, with a total of 58 people involved in organizing the event.

The success of these initiatives has sparked hope that disc golf can become a mainstream sport in Mongolia. The MDGA is committed to spreading the sport across the country, working with universities, general education schools, and local communities to place disc golf baskets in parks and sports fields nationwide. With international support and local enthusiasm, it's clear that disc golf is here to stay in Mongolia for the long haul.

In the words of the MDGA, "We believe that disc golf has the potential to unite people of all ages and backgrounds, promoting physical activity, social interaction, and a healthier lifestyle. We're committed to making this vision a reality, with a focus on excellence, growth, and inclusivity."
