DeLaveaga Proves Its Worth as Masters Cup Heats Up

The third stop of the 2021 PDGA National Tour has reached its climax at DeLaveaga Disc Golf Course in Santa Cruz, California. With just 24 holes remaining, two players - Adam Hammes and Kevin Jones - are perfectly positioned to claim victory in the Santa Cruz Masters Cup presented by Innova.

Jones fired off a sizzling hot round on Saturday, carding an impressive 13-under-par score. His impressive performance has him tied atop the leaderboard with Hammes, who had previously set the pace with a 14-under-par score on Friday. Despite some minor setbacks, both players have demonstrated exceptional mental toughness and a keen ability to bounce back from adversity.

Hammes' calm and composed approach has been a key factor in his success so far. He stated that he came into the round feeling confident and focused, which enabled him to start strong and maintain momentum throughout the day. Hammes' only misstep came on hole 17, where he incurred a bogey - however, this mistake didn't seem to faze him as he recovered with a birdie on the next hole.

Jones, too, has shown remarkable resilience in the face of adversity. After struggling with three bogies early in his round, he managed to turn things around by carding eight under-par over the following nine holes. His impressive comeback was sealed when he notched four consecutive birdies towards the end of the round, giving him the boost he needed to join Hammes at the top of the leaderboard.

Other players are also vying for a spot in contention heading into Sunday's final round. Drew Gibson and James Conrad have jumped onto the lead card with impressive performances of 12-under-par and 8-under-par, respectively. A tight pack is tied for third place at 19-under-par, including James Proctor, Alden Harris, Kyle Klein, and Paul McBeth.

As the competition reaches its climax, DeLaveaga's challenging layout will undoubtedly put these players to the test. With so many holes left to play, anything can happen - but one thing is certain: only the strongest mental and physical game will prevail in this thrilling showdown.
