Champions Cup Prep Team Sets the Stage for World-Class Event

As the excitement builds for the 2022 PDGA Champions Cup presented by Bushnell, a dedicated team has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that this year's event will be the best yet. In October 2021, representatives from the PDGA Operations and Logistics team, event staff, pro touring players, and presenting sponsor Bushnell met at the International Disc Golf Center (IDGC) in Appling, Georgia to discuss plans for the prestigious tournament.

This meeting of the minds brought together some of the biggest names in disc golf, including Michael Downes, Director of Operations for the PDGA; Kona Panis, a first-tier invitee to the 2022 Champions Cup; Paul Ulibarri, Chair of the PDGA Pro Touring Players Committee; and Robert Leonard, Tournament Director for the 2022 PDGA Champions Cup. Also in attendance were Michael Sizemore, Disc Golf Coordinator for Bushnell Disc; Carlos Lozano, Brand Manager for Bushnell Disc; Chuck Connelly, Assistant Tournament Director for the 2022 PDGA Champions Cup; Seth Findley, Director of Operations for the DGPT; and Nate Michalove, IDGC Manager.

The team's focus was on refining the already world-class W.R. Jackson course to make it even more pristine for this year's first major event. The course has a reputation for being one of the toughest and most challenging in the world, and the prep team is committed to making sure that every aspect of the course is perfect.

However, there are still opportunities available for spectators who want to experience the excitement of the tournament in person. VIP ticket holders will have access to follow cards throughout the entirety of the course, while week-long Bushnell Boulevard passes are currently available for purchase. These passes give spectators access to a majority of the course and other amenities.
