The Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT) has unveiled its highly anticipated 2022 schedule, combining the PDGA National Tour and DGPT Elite Series into a single cohesive tour. Dubbed "The Official Pro Tour of the PDGA," this new format promises to deliver an exciting series of events for fans around the globe.
The 2022 season will feature a total of 33 events across nine months, including 11 PDGA Majors, 15 DGPT Elite Series tournaments in the US, and seven PDGA Euro Tour events. The schedule kicks off on February 24-27 with the Las Vegas Challenge (LVC) in Las Vegas, Nevada, before heading to Europe for the Pro-Forester event in Várzadin, Croatia.
Throughout the season, players will compete in various formats, including X-Majors, Majors, and DGPT events. Notable highlights include the inaugural PDGA Champions Cup in Appling, Georgia, and four World Championships. The season culminates with the DGPT Championship on October 13-16 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
A major focus of the new schedule is geographic viability, with organizers working to balance event locations to minimize travel time for players and maximize competitive opportunities. The PDGA and DGPT staff collaborated closely to identify events that meet the requirements for high-quality tournaments.
The 2022 PDGA Euro Tour plans a strong return after two years of COVID-related cancellations, promising record payouts and an enhanced player experience. Full media coverage for these events will be announced soon.
