2019 PDGA Majors, NTs, & DGPT Schedule Released | Professional Disc Golf Association
Date Published
The Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) has released its comprehensive schedule for the 2019 season, featuring a total of 10 domestic and 1 international PDGA Majors, 6 National Tour events, and 11 Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT) events. In addition to these major tournaments, several other notable events are listed for reference.
As part of the announcement, the PDGA has also opened up A-Tier requests for the upcoming season. Event organizers can submit their requests through an online form by October 16th, 2018. To be considered for A-Tier status, applicants must provide at least three possible dates and ensure that their event does not conflict with existing schedules.
The growth of disc golf has led to a significant increase in the number of events taking place each year, and as such, the PDGA is implementing new guidelines to manage the schedule effectively. The organization aims to limit the number of A-Tiers to around 100 beyond DGPT events, meaning that not all requesting events will be granted A-Tier status. However, high-profile, successful multi-year B-Tiers may be considered for upgrading to A-Tier status.
The PDGA World Championships events have been listed with date ranges that include the weekend prior to the start of the main event for field events and doubles. The actual main event dates are specified below each listing.
For those interested in hosting an A-Tier event, it is essential to submit a complete request form by October 16th to avoid being scheduled as a B-Tier. The PDGA encourages all applicants to be flexible with their scheduling to accommodate the needs of other tournament directors and players.
